STOCK OPTIONS TRADING FOR BEGINNERS - PAVING MY OWN WAY TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM

STOCK OPTIONS TRADING FOR BEGINNERS - PAVING MY OWN WAY TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM

It's been awhile since the last time I uploaded a blog, but I had to take a break.  After losing my day-time, 9-to-5 gig, I had to take to take a break.  I wanted to find something new that would empower me to explore life more fully, and allow for more "FREEDOM."

It's been difficult, because Stock Options Trading can be very tricky, and if you don't budget, you could lose everything you've invested.  That's why it's important to start with a little to practice, or use Paper Trading to learn.  You will have to take notes, lots and lots of notes.  You will also need to create and learn about "strategies'" along the way.  But, I've been learning quite a lot, which really means I've been making a lot of mistakes along the way. I'm no where near a professional, so "these articles are purely for entertainment and educational purposes only."  I'm writing, because I simply want to share my thoughts with you.

Now that I've explained myself, let's get on with it:

As a beginner:  What is Stock Options Trading all about:

Stock options trading is a way to invest in the stock market without buying the actual stock. Instead, you buy a contract that gives you the right (but not the obligation) to buy or sell a stock at a specific price within a set time. There are two main types:

  • Call options – you’re betting the stock will go up.

  • Put options – you’re betting the stock will go down.

It’s a flexible strategy that can lead to big profits—but it also carries higher risk, so learning the basics is important.

Let's just take this in small bite-sized reading, and evolve as we go along.  In the meantime, you should check out some Youtube videos to learn the basics along the way.  Here are three videos for you to watch, to see if Stock Options Trading is right for you...

🧠 1. Do I truly understand how options work?

Options are more complex than buying and selling stocks. Do you understand terms like strike price, expiration date, premiums, calls, puts, and break-even point?

Options can lead to big profits—but also fast losses. Are you using money you can afford to lose, or is this your rent or emergency savings?

🕒 3. Do I have time to monitor the market regularly?

Options are time-sensitive. Unlike stocks you can hold long-term, many options lose value quickly. Can you dedicate time to stay updated?

🎯 4. What’s my goal—income, growth, or protection?

Are you trading for quick profits, long-term gains, or to hedge (protect) other investments? Your goal will shape your strategy.

That's enough info for you to dabble with for the time being, but start exploring Stock Options Trading for yourself.  I started this journey, because it provided me with a possible way out.  I'm older now, and this is going to be how I forge my own path to a realistic future to FREEDOM.

One last suggestion:  Remember to... "only invest with what you can afford to lose."  Make sure to limit your losses by trading with

  • Paper Trades.
  • Practice, Practice, Practice.
  • TAKE LOTS OF NOTES!
